What is the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation?
The Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation works with and through partners to help end hunger in the United States. For the past 25 years, the Foundation, along with the support of Sodexo employees, volunteers, non-profit partners, and donors have worked together to help fight hunger in local communities through fundraising, donations, and hands-on volunteering.
Your donation will directly support communities experiencing hardship. Two communities have been identified to receive support this year.
First, in alignment with the Foundation’s belief, “Where we show up, we give back!”, the Foundation has coordinated efforts to stock the shelves of Frisco Family Services grocery stores that offers free supplies to approximately 100 families. In addition, 200 back-to-school backpacks are being assembled for children served by Frisco Family Services.
Second, all funds raised this evening will support Asheville, North Carolina Manna Food Bank and more specifically, the summer feeding program, which is estimated to serve over 140,000 meals at a cost of at least $85,000. The Manna Food Bank serves 16 Western North Carolina counties. During Hurricane Helene in September 2024, the food bank was destroyed. It will cost $112 million dollars, and three years to rebuild this crucial community resource.
