Throughout the US, we are continuing to see an average increase of over 55% more people visiting food banks than before the pandemic, including many military families. Sodexo’s Government segment, with support from Sodexo’s HONOR EBRG, is launching a new campaign to help military families struggling with food insecurity to eat more nutrient-rich foods, and it would be great if you were a part of it.

During April and May, Sodexo and the Stop Hunger Foundation are celebrating Servathon, the largest global Stop Hunger event where employees around the world join forces, engage their teams, and fight hunger in their local communities. Although many of us are unable to gather in large groups, we can still make a BIG impact by individually engaging in the Love the Planet Virtual Food Drive. And, April 22 is Earth Day so a Love the Planet theme will help raise awareness about sustainability!

We welcome all Government employees and HONOR members to join us in supporting good in the world and making a real difference. Your donation will be allocated to our partners at the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) to support that organization’s efforts to combat hunger in military families.

Through this campaign, we hope to raise at least $2,022 to support ASYMCA’s commitment to support the military community by helping to reduce food insecurity among military families. Food insecurity is prevalent in military families and increases the risk of health conditions that may impact military readiness. 100% of your tax-deductible donation will go to the ASYMCA to further its efforts to teach military families to make healthy food choices, grow fresh vegetables and fruit at home, attend healthy cooking classes, and fund/support ASYMCA’s community gardens.

We understand it’s been a challenging year for much of the country, including Sodexo employees. If you are inclined and able, please consider making a donation to support the effort – your donation will go a long way to helping us meet our goal for Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation.
