Help us feed our neighbors in the Lehigh Community.
Currently, more than 50 million people in the United States face hunger, including 17 million children. This means 1 in 4 children are experiencing food insecurity and its devastating impact this year.
To help combat this issue, the Sodexo dining team at Lehigh University are joining together to host an Empty Bowls event to raise funds for the New Bethany Ministries. Amazing soups will be served in handmade pottery bowls by local artists in the community. Once guests have enjoyed sharing this experience together, the concept is that an “Empty Bowl” is brought home to remind us of all the “Empty Bowls” in our community.
Your Ticket will include: Admission to the event, 5 raffle tickets, dinner (salad, pasta, and soup), a cash bar, wonderful live music from student performers, and a fantastic presentation.
100% of the proceeds will go directly to a hunger relief organization, which will use this support to help alleviate hunger in our local community.
Empty Bowls is an international hunger relief effort, though all activities and events occur at the local, or grass-roots, level. The event was started in 1990 by a Michigan art teacher who was looking for a creative way to involve his students in a local food drive. Before long, the idea of Empty Bowls spread, and Empty Bowls events are now held all across the United States and in twenty different countries, raising money worldwide toward hunger relief.
Please consider making a donation to support our efforts!

The Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation leads strategic action to help provide consistent access to nutritious food. Consistent with this mission, the Sodexo at Lehigh and dining team are proactive in helping Stop Hunger for those in need in the community to make a difference.
